Private Applicator Recertification Program

Aquatic Plant Management Online

Certification for private applicators allows a farmer/grower to purchase and use restricted-use pesticides on property they own, rent, or otherwise control.

Any private applicator wishing to buy and use restricted-use pesticides must be certified and possess a current pesticide applicator permit issued by the Office of the Indiana State Chemist (OISC). To make this process more convenient to the applicators, Purdue Extension has placed the Aquatic Plant Management curriculum online.

The curriculum has been arranged into a series of logically sequenced learning programs covering:
Role of Aquatic Plants
Zones in a body of water
What affects plant growth
Maintaining a Balanced Aquatic Plant Community
Identification and classification of aquatic plants
Why Control aquatic plants
Methods to control aquatic plants
Using herbicides to control aquatic plants
Regulation Issues

The online program takes about 2 - 4 hours to complete. You have 90 days to complete the online program once you register.
