The 4−H Horse and Pony Project provides youth a fun and hands-on learning experience that develops life skills, as well as teaches valuable information about properly caring for their animal. Subjects such as general management, training, nutrition, housing, and health care are presented in the curricular materials, through workshops and activities such as horse bowl, Hippology and judging, and in preparation of an exhibit. Youth also have the opportunity to develop responsibility, decision-making, nurturing, and communication skills through active participation in the 4−H Horse and Pony Project.

Rule books - 1 book should be given to each family. If you are a first year family or need to request a new one, please contact the Extension Office at 812-448-9041. New books with updated rules & patterns will be distributed in 2020.
Hippology/Horse Bowl and Horse Judging
- Weekly meetings will begin on Tuesday January 8th @ 6:00 pm.
- State Hippology contest will be on 03/23/2019 @ Purdue University
- Judging contest information will be available at a later date
2019 Clay County Fair dates - July 13-July 19
Camper spot reservations will begin in June on a first come-first served basis.
