4-H Expo

Monday, October 15

6:30-8:30 pm

Clover Pavilion Dubois County 4-H Fairgrounds

You are invited to our exciting and family friendly 4-H Expo. At the Expo, you will have the opportunity to find out more about 4-H Clubs in your community, exciting 4-H events, and learn more about 4-H and how it teaches youth life skills. The theme for the 2018 Expo is "Fall into Nature" and youth can enjoy various nature themed- activities and games while learning about 4-H! There will also be free hot dogs, chips, and drinks at the event. Come out and  meet 4-Hers, 4-H Leaders and see why you should be part of this fun and educational organization. The Dubois County 4-H Fairgrounds are located at 4157 S State Road 162, Huntingburg, six miles south of Jasper. Something new that will be featured at this year's event is "Reverse Trick or Treating."  We are asking for participants and guest to help us support the local community by bringing non-perishable food items for us to donate to the local food bank. We encourage families to involve youth in picking out the items to show them the importance of giving back. 4-H has always been an organization that values giving back to our community.

Dubois County 4-H offers a hands‑on program where members learn skills and information useful for a lifetime. Today's 4‑H is popular with members from both town and country with its wide variety of projects and activities. To be eligible to join traditional 4‑H, youth must be in grades 3-12. Youth in grades K-2 may participate as a Mini 4-H member.

Members have the opportunity to learn more about a subject matter that they choose to study through completing hands on activities. We refer to these as projects. Projects include Construction Toys, Foods, Crafts, Forestry, Dog Obedience, Scrapbooking, Photography, and Woodworking to name a few. There are even a few project based clubs including Horse & Pony, Robotics & Innovation, Shooting Sports, Clogging, Rabbits, and Junior Leaders. There are almost 80 projects to choose from. These projects and other activities teach youth leadership and life skills that will enhance their development and prepare them for the future.

More information about clubs, projects, and enrollment will be available at the 4-H Expo. We now have online enrollment at in.4honline.com.  Enrollment opens on October 1st, and we can help youth enroll online at the event! The targeted enrollment window ends on January 15, 2019. We hope to see you at this year’s 4-H Expo!

You can learn and have fun by joining Dubois County 4-H.
