Virtual Volunteer Training Opportunities

Join Area 2 4-H Educators as we offer eight different Zoom trainings designed to help 4-H Volunteers bring tools back to their county and clubs. These are open to any 4-H volunteer, teen, or potential volunteer. 

Schedule

Select from our monthly "menu" of offerings to build your skills. Feel free to join us for one, more, or all! All sessions start at 6:30 EST. Sessions include:

  • September 23- Essential Elements of Youth Development with Heather VonDielingen
    • Join us on September 23rd to learn about the Essential Elements of Positive Youth Development. In 4-H, we utilize eight Essential Elements to guide our program development. Each of the eight Essential Elements is crucial to the growth of youth and contributes to a positive environment for youth development to occur. The eight Essential Elements include: A Positive Relationship with a Caring Adult, An Inclusive Environment, A Safe Emotional and Physical Environment, Opportunity for Mastery, Engagement in Learning Opportunity to See Oneself as an Active Participant in the Future, Opportunity for Self Determination, and Opportunity to Value and Practice Service to Others.

  • October 29- Healthy Living with Megan Broughton, Megan McNeely, and Gail Peitzmeier
  • November 12- Animal Science with Molley Scott, Rebecca Wilkins, and Clint Deck
    • Join us on November 12th to learn about fun activities to incorporate with your clubs that talk about animal science and STEM. This session will help build a tool kit for you to use to teach youth about animal ethics, nutrition, skeletal systems, STEM and so much more!

  • December 1- Civic Engagement with Lesley Lodmell and Katie Whiteford
    • Learn about great activities to incorporate with your clubs that talk about civic engagement and leadership. A whole kit is ready for you to use to teach youth about ethics, flag etiquette, service, and so much more!

  • January 12- Club Meeting Social Distancing with Katie Whiteford
    • Learn how to have successful 4-H meetings during a pandemic in person and virtually.

  • February 23- Club/Project Leader 4HOnline 2.0 with Katie Whiteford and Molley Scott
    • 4HOnline has had a makeover! Check out the new side of 4HOnline for volunteers and how this can be a great resource for you and your club.

  • March 15- STEM with Sam McCollum and Clint Deck
  • April 12- Innovative Thinking as a 4-H Volunteer with Sam McCollum
    • Want to learn what it means to “think outside the box”?  This training will promote critical thinking skill development and utilize innovation in planning programs and club events!
