Leadership Spencer County Accepting Applications to Join 2026 Class
Rural communities throughout Indiana struggle to find enough leaders to step up, get involved, and help create more vibrant communities. Confident, skilled and knowledgeable leaders are needed to guide organizations and communities through challenges they face in today’s changing environment. For over 20 years, Leadership Spencer County has identified and grown leaders to help address this need. That tradition continues in 2026 as Leadership Spencer County seeks applicants interested in building personal leadership skills as well as increasing knowledge and appreciation of the local community.
Leadership Spencer County is open to anyone interested in helping make a difference in Spencer County. The course consists of 10 monthly all-day sessions. Through the interactive Purdue Extension Community Leadership Program curriculum, participants will develop knowledge, skills, commitment, and connections to improve the quality of life in our community. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to network with emerging and established leaders, advance their own leadership abilities, learn about challenges and opportunities in the community, and get to know some of the local organizations leading the way forward.
The 2026 course will kick off on February 17 at the beautiful Saint Meinrad Archabbey and will continue monthly through November 17. To receive a certificate of completion, participants are expected to attend 9 of the 10 sessions. The program fee is $400 and applications are due by February 3.
