Meet Our Team
Nicole Witkowski
Nikky has been with Purdue Extension since May 2007. She started in Lake County and transitioned to Porter County in 2018. She is the Purdue Extension Master Gardener Coordinator in Porter County and works with those in the green industry as well as farmers. While in Porter County, she has become a certified drone pilot, including an aerial applicator drone that will be used for test plots and demonstrations.
Gina Avila
Gina joined the Porter County Extension team in 2022, as a Community Development Educator.
She is passionate about cultivating relationships and is mission driven. She has 20+ years of sales and marketing experience in both profit and non-profit sectors. Formerly, she served as an Associate Director of Northwest Indiana Area Health Education Center at Purdue University Northwest. She received her B.A. in communications with a concentration in public relations and a minor in marketing, from Purdue University Northwest.
Jennifer Myers
Jennifer joined the Purdue Extension - Porter County team in June 2023 as the 4-H Youth Development Extension Educator.
She was a former 4-H'er from Northeast Indiana where she showed poultry and took on as many Exhibit Building projects as possible. She earned her Bachelor's in Marketing and Digital Publishing from Ball State University and then continued her education to receive her Master's in Agricultural Education from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She is not new to Extension as she was a 4-H Program Coordinator with Michigan State University Extension prior to coming back to her roots here in Indiana. She has a drive to help the youth thrive in the community while also building awareness on the importance of agriculture in our daily lives.
Mindy Duckett
Mindy joined Purdue Extension in 2014 as part of the Nutrition Education Program. Mindy is now serving in a regional role in Starke, Pulaski, and Porter Counties as the Health and Human Sciences Educator.
She is passionate about helping people live healthy lives and thrive in their communities. She enjoys helping people strengthen relationships, eat smart, improve health, and achieve financial wellnes.
